The Basics on Diabetes
There are two types of diabetes that you might have. The first is type 1 diabetes, and this is usually referred to as insulin-dependent diabetes, because your body does not produce the necessary hormone that regulates glucose from food and energy. Food and diet tips for diabetics
First things first. If you notice in the title I have food, but also put the word diet. This is because I really do not think there is a “diet for diabetics. At least, it should not be named, but many people are familiar with and accustomed to such an article. The word, however, seems to imply something temporary with a specific short-term goal in mind. The average diet of the average customer (especially here in America) is terrible and desperately needs fixing.
And so I tell my customers, instead of seeking a “diet” in search of a new nutrition plan that is much healthier and will become a permanent change and not something short term. Make changes gradually, with the ultimate goal is to improve your food, should be seriously considered if you have diabetes or not. So, think long term and you’ll wonder much longer with a longer life and healthier.
